If you are in Japan on the Valentine's Day, you'll notice there're so many chocolates sold everywhere. Years ago, a confectionery company made it a ritual for girls to hand out boys chocolates to show affection. It also made it a custom for female workers in offices to buy small chocolate gifts to your male colleagues or male bosses. They're supposed to give back ladies some sweets on the 14th of March.
