日本で、使い捨てカイロをホッカイロと商品名で呼ぶように、ティッシュのことを｢クリネックス｣と呼んだり、セロテープのことは「スコッチテープ」と呼んだりします。この2つは特に北米でよく聞きますが、各国それぞれに、独特の言い方呼び方があるみたいなので、発見すると面白いですね。
During my 3.5 years in Canada, I found it interesting that people called tissues "Kleenex" or sticky tapes "Scotch Tape" using the actual product names. We also have the similar names in Japanese. People tend to call the disposable heat pack "Hokkairo" or "Hokaron".
