Moshi Moshi? もしもしはね

英語の後に日本語が来ます。

I heard some foreigners saying "moshi moshi~" as a greeting to Japanese people but "moshi moshi" is used in telephone conversations only. If you want to say "hello", use "konnichiwa".

たまに海外で｢モシモシ~｣と挨拶のように叫ばれて困惑することがありますが、どうやら｢こんにちはー｣のつもりで言っているようです。モシモシは電話限定なのよ~。
