After Christmas wreath, some people put a different wreath for the new year on the front door. It typically looks like this photo. I understand there're tons of traditions around new year but we left out most of them. Many people still visit shrines and temples for their new year resolution.
街歩きすると結構正月飾りをドアに飾っている家を見かけます。新年は数えきれないほどの伝統行事がありますが、もうほとんど分からなくなりましたよね。この正月飾りの直前はクリスマスのリースだしね。この「リース」は「wreath」と書きます。
