これは2009年10月時点の世界遺産モンサンミシェル。既に寺院が海に浮かばなくなっていました。目の前が駐車場になっていてこんな景色にげんなりしましたが、フランス人も「これでいいのか？」と思っていたらしく、大掘削工事を経て海に浮かぶ寺院を復活させ、数キロ手前からのシャトルで入口に着けるようにしたとのこと。
The picture shows the scenery from the World Heritage Mont Saint Michel, France in 2009. It wasn't a tidal island and the front yard was a huge parking lot for visitors. I was disappointed to see this and I assume French people did feel the same. The construction had already started in 2005 and the new bridge was submerged again in 2015.
