I noticed a difference in cake cutting when I was in Canada. In Japan, we usually cut the cake in a cross to make pieces in the same size but the host mother of the family I stayed with said that they didn't cut a round cake in a cross. I understood there were many differences, even tiny small matters, if I went overseas.
