グローサラント？ Grocerant?

グローサラントという言葉を知りました。食料品を意味するGroceryとレストラン(Restaurant)をくっつけた造語だそうです。日本でもイートインが増えていますが、アメリカでも大きなスーパーマーケットの中にレストラン並みの食事を提供する場所があって、買い物ついでに食事できるとのこと。飲み物などで足らなければ店内から持ってくれば一緒に会計してくれるそうです。今度アメリカ行ったら探してみよう。

I heard a new word "Grocerant" on an international news topic. I find more "eat-in" areas at supermarkets with wider space nowadays but "Grocerant" seem more than just "eat-in". They have their own menu just like restaurants and offer shoppers high quality food. They allow shoppers to pick up shop products to go with their food and put them on the grocery bill. I'd like to try it next time I visit the States.
